Couples Therapy

In couples therapy, we explore and alter the difficult relationship dynamics that if left unchallenged, lead to recurring fights, excessive blame, chronic misunderstanding and withdrawal.  Most couples that come to therapy are in active protest about what is happening to their relationship.  I will join with you in this protest while helping you focus your energies on changing the dance that has you going around in circles and getting nowhere.

My couples therapy work starts from an Attachment perspective and draws primarily from Emotionally Focused Therapy and The Gottman Method.

Common issues addressed:  Recurrent conflict, attachment wounds, poor communication, loss of connection, withdrawal, infidelity, conflicts over money, issues with sex, declining trust, illness and addiction.
